Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is one of the best books
I've ever read. I just couldn't put it down. I would recommend
it to anyone who likes the Unfortunate Events series or Lord
of the Rings. The story is about a young boy (Harry Potter)
whose parents were killed when a terrible wizard murdered
them. The dark wizard tries to kill Harry but Harry survived
and he's only 1 year old. He goes to live with his Aunt and
Uncle who know Harry is a wizard. Harry doesn't find out he's
a wizard until his 11th birthday when Hagrid comes to take him
away to Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Waterford
Table lamps. That's when all the magic begins for Harry. Harry
and Hagrid go to the train station Hagrid hands Harry a ticket
that says platform 9 ¾. When Harry arrives at Hogwarts he gets
sorted into Gryffindor (one of the 4 houses at Hogwarts.)
Harry Potter is famous for surviving the terrible murder.
Harry goes through the school year and is involved in all
kinds of adventures. The school year is over before he can
imagine! He can't wait until next year.
Ray Bradbury says, "You don't
have to burn books to destroy culture. Just get people to stop
reading them" The book Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is
banned because many people do not believe in witchcraft. I
think that it is your choice if you read it or not so I don't
think that it should be banned. Many people know that it is
not true anyways. Waterford lamps. I think that Harry Potter
and the Sorcerers Stone is a great book because it gives a lot
of detail. If there is no freedom of speech there would be no
independence. The Harry Potter series is one of the top one
hundred non-accepted books in schools. One reason why it's
banned is because there are graphic situations in the series,
like death. Another reason might be that some religions
consider magic evil, which is in the book repeatedly. Some
reasons people feel it shouldn't be banned is it gives an
imaginative journey to another place which lets it's readers
get away from daily stresses. It also lets the reader
experience why people fear things they don't understand. I
think the book's series should not be banned because it gives
a passport to another realm. If Harry Potter's lamp series is
banned, it takes away the author's freedom of speech and takes
away freedom from the reader. |
